Finally our shipment from China arrived!

Today finally our shipment from China arrived after 3 months and 1 week of waiting for it.
So great to be surrounded by your own things.
We moved the things around a bit and have a real cozy place now!
The company that delivered the stuff was not aware that they were expected to unpack too, so it [...]

Mia has finally arrived in Valencia!

On Saturday afternoon I could finally pick up Mia from the airport after our 2.5 months of separation! It was great to see her walking through the gate, pushing her cart with a stack of suitcases on it.
We took a taxi back home and went to the supermercado to buy some things for in the [...]

Another reason to write today is because I have an hour extra. Wintertime, not [...]

package from China

Just now the mailman rang my doorbell; he had with him a package from China.
Mia mailed me a box with bedding and pillows a couple of weeks ago and thus it had finally arrived!

It will be loaded onto a ship now and that vessel is supposed to leave later this week.
Well, that is about time! Once the vessel has left it still takes up to 40 days to get to Spain and then [...]

For the last time in a while I hope I packed my suitcase once again. Well packed… more like throwing it all in. Paid the equivalent of about one month rent and headed to Amparo’s casita.
Later on Amparo also came and we went to the bank to open an account. Normally that is only [...]

move to Valencia – Sept 21

Gorgeous weather again so I decided to take the double-decker tourist-bus for a tour around town. My plan was to head to the beach and it seemed that the bus had a stop close enough.
It was a nice trip although most of the sights I already had come across on my walking trips. [...]

move to Valencia – Sept 20

I had quite a hangover and didn’t do anything all day.
The microphone and camera for Skype work great so I could do some talking with Mia.

move to Valencia – Sept 19

In the morning I went for another stroll through town and walked through the Turia, the riverbed that has been turned into a massive park that runs along the entire north and east side of the center.
On the way are some beautiful bridges and all kinds of facilities for people that want to enjoy their [...]
